There is no official Twitter background image size and there isn’t much information on Twitter background specifications online. However, CronCast published Twitter background dimensions that seem to work pretty well.

File Dimensions: 2048 px x 1707 px
Branding Dimensions: 80 px x 587 px
Coordinates: X=20, Y=14
Horizontal position: 20 px from the left
Vertical position: 14 px from the top (will line up your graphic with the top of the twitter logo)
File size and type: images must be smaller than 800k. GIF, JPG, PNG.

Changing your Twitter background is very simple. Simply login and go to:

Settings > Design > Use my custom style > Upload your image
